This article provides comprehensive packaging guidelines for manufacturers on the Cutr platform. It covers the materials required, packing specifications for boxes and pallets, labelling instructions, and the importance of taking photos before and after packaging. These guidelines ensure that all items are securely packed and delivered in excellent condition, meeting Cutr's quality guidelines.

Before packing

  • Ensure that all parts and products fully comply with our Quality Guidelines.

  • Verify that any parts glued or treated with varnish, paint, or other finish, are completely dry before packing to avoid any packaging sticking to the parts.

  • Ensure all parts are adequately cleaned of any pencil marks, tape, excess glue or dust before packaging.

Materials

Pallets

  • Size: Choose the appropriate pallet for your order:

    • Europallet: 80 x 120 cm

    • Block pallet: 100 x 120 cm

    • Sheet size pallet (custom made or bought): 244 x 122 cm

  • Important: Assume pallets will not be returned unless delivering directly to the customer's address.

Boxes

  • Use non-branded, 2-layer cardboard boxes for small parts.

  • Use professional packaging tape (2” or wider). Avoid masking tape, cellophane tape, duct tape, string, or paper overwrap.

Other Materials

  • Cardboard

  • Spare wood panels

  • Plastic foil

  • Plastic foam foil

  • Corner protection (preferably cardboard)

  • Straps

Packing Specifications

Boxes

  • Wrap all items individually if they are prone to scratches or dents.

  • Fill empty spaces with packaging paper or biodegradable peanuts.

  • Seal boxes with glue tape using the H-taping method to secure all edges and seams.

  • Label boxes with "FRAGILE" and indicate the correct orientation with "UP". Specify if a side should be opened first with "OPEN THIS FIRST".

Pallets

  • Bottom Layer: Place a protective layer (cardboard or wood) larger than the largest part of the order between the pallet and the first item.

  • Offset Dimensions: Leave 5-10 cm of space between the pallet edge and the largest part.

  • Layering: Stack parts from largest to smallest for flat packs. Use cardboard or paper between layers to prevent scratches or dents.

  • For large series, ensure different materials or finishes do not touch.

  • Top Layer: Use a protective top layer (cardboard or wood) to protect against straps.

  • Wrap with cardboard if needed and cover all corners with cardboard.

  • Use at least 2 straps to secure parts, protecting them from direct pressure.

  • Ensure no parts are loose. The pallet should stand alone and not be top-heavy.

  • For international transport, consider using a wooden box around products if using a third-party supplier, depending on the product value.

Labeling

  • Print and attach one Cutr Packing Slip per box or pallet, or use your own if it clearly states:

    • Cutr Order ID

    • Materials or parts

    • Quantity

    • Packing, shipping, and delivery date

    • Delivery address

    • Signature

  • Secure the packing slip to each box or pallet.

  • Attach a shipping label if using a third-party shipment.

Updating the Cutr App

  • Ensure the Delivery Schedule is updated on Cutr with the time window within which the packages will arrive.

  • Ensure all photo documentation is uploaded to the Cutr app prior to Delivery.

  • Remember to mark your order as Delivered on Cutr once completed.
