File annotations enable efficient collaboration by allowing you to review, comment, and track document updates directly on PDFs and images, all within the platform. Here’s what you need to know:

Adding Comments & Annotations

  • Commenting: You can place comments and annotations on PDFs and image files, marking up specific areas and leaving feedback. Comments from you, the production partner, and the Cutr team will all be visible, making collaboration smoother.

  • Replying: Reply to comments from customers and Cutr in threaded discussions, helping clarify requirements and keep everyone informed.

Tracking Changes and Approvals

  • Approval Notifications: If you add a new marker to an approved file, you’ll be notified that the approval process for that specific drawing will restart. This ensures all updates are properly reviewed and re-approved.

  • No Approval Trigger for Replies: Replies on existing markers won’t restart the approval process, allowing for ongoing conversations without affecting the file’s status.

Downloading Annotated PDFs

  • Checklist of Unresolved Comments: When you download a PDF with markers, a checklist of unresolved comments and replies is included, keeping all necessary details at hand.

  • File Status Warnings:

    • If you download an unapproved file, you’ll receive a clear warning at the top that the file is not yet approved.

    • If the file is marked "Do Not Use for Work Prep," you’ll see a prominent warning to avoid using it for work preparation.
