Cutr accepts 2D & 3D CAD drawings as:

  • STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data) .step .stp

  • DWG (Drawing) .dwg

  • DXF (AutoCAD Drawing Interchange File) .dxf

  • SKP (SketchUp) .skp

Specifications for uploading STEP files

  • Units of measurements should be in millimetres

  • Clear structure tree

  • Use colours to help make your file easy to read

  • A STEP-file may contain both a mono-section and a composition (assembly). Quantities in a STEP composition will govern.

  • Cutr recognizes beams, sheets, panels, and curved shapes made up of volumes (not surfaces).

  • Cutr will not produce assembly elements such as hinges, drawer systems, dowels, lamellos, adjustable legs, or LED strips.

  • Parts with holes on more than 5 sides are possible, however, these require additional manufacturing time, therefore increasing the manufacturing costs.

  • Cutr will not produce parts less than 50x100mm as standalone items. Production of small parts within larger assemblies is possible.

Specifications for uploading DWG or DXF from CAD or SketchUp

  • File should be drawn to scale at 1:1

  • Units of measurements should be in millimetres

  • Clear structure tree

  • Use colours to help make your file easy to read

  • Drawings should not have any double lines - make sure to check your file and delete all duplicates

  • All elements in the drawing should be at the same Z-value where applicable

  • Lines must not touch or cut through themselves or each other.

  • Information such as text, dimension lines and frames, etc. should be removed

  • Additional information, such as Production Drawings (.pdf) or Renderings (.png .jpeg .tiff) should be included as part of your order upload as a Supporting File or in the Additional Information field in the Options tab on the app
